I hate reading reviews which are posted right after a person purchases the product. Sometimes, problems or concerns don't pop up until months of use have occured. This one is after 10+ years of use.
I've had this machine for well over 12 years. It is still going strong. I highly recommend this unit for a daily maker. Works well for entertaining when specialty drinks are called for. I use the frother for making chocolate milk for the kids too!
Funny thing, the steam output nozzle also works well as a jewelry steam cleaner! Just like the pros. Make sure you handle your gems with a set of jewelers tweezers as not to burn yourself. It does a great job with the slightest of ease. I would highly recommend obtaining a gold tone filter from the get go on any machine you buy. Saves money!
This machine has the self timer as well. You set the time to tell the machine to come on in the AM and VOILA! coffee is ready for you when you get up. Parts are still readily available so I wouldn't worry about that. Seems like these are still available online new too!
The grind. . . . Grind your own beans with the Krups coffee grinder. This is the best way to make the most of your machine.
Remember, this isn't a commercial machine with a super deper pump and all the bells and whistles so if thats what you need, be prepared to spend. |
Problems: I don't know what the optimum temp for brewing coffee is anymore however, after 10+ years of use, there is a "slight" difference. Barely noticeable to others. I simply pre heat water (sometimes) in the microwave then pour into my unit. This is a rare deal and I don't want to suggest this unit doesn't heat well. It does but I'm a bit picky about taste after 12-13 years. lol
I'm searching for another Krups to replace my old one and I hate to do it. It's just this, I've broken my carafe for the 10th time and saw some pretty cool Krups gadgets online today. . . |
